About Kari Roe, FNP-BC

Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner | Integrative Trauma Practitioner | Psychedelic Medicine | Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist

My Path to Healing Work

I am a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 25 years of experience in healthcare. My journey began in 1996, when I transitioned from working as an Emergency Medical Technician to nursing—starting as a nurse aide and eventually becoming a Nurse Practitioner.

Over the years, my professional path has expanded to include extensive education and training in Psychedelics, Trauma-Informed Care, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Health Equity, Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI), Mindfulness, Breathwork, and Somatic practices.

These diverse lenses shape how I approach healing—honoring the connection between mind, body, and spirit, and integrating science with compassion.

A Wounded Healer’s Perspective

Psychedelic medicines have played a profound role in my own healing journey. Through these experiences, I’ve witnessed the deep potential for transformation and am passionate about offering these modalities as safe, supported tools for healing.

As a self-identified wounded healer, I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience. I have survived childhood sexual trauma, navigated complex PTSD, eating disorder recovery, substance use, and severe depression and suicidality.

These experiences allow me to meet others with empathy and authenticity. I don’t approach healing as a “fixing” process but as a compassionate partnership rooted in presence and understanding.

Who I Am

I identify as a queer, white human (she/they) and am dedicated to cultivating inclusive, affirming spaces for all.

I have deep ties to and ongoing support for the LGBTQIA+, military, recovery, and substance use communities.

Healing happens in relationship, and I believe everyone deserves care that honors the fullness of who they are.

Education, Advocacy & Community

Beyond clinical work, I am committed to education, advocacy, and expanding access to safe psychedelic care. I have developed and presented content on psychedelic medicines, ketamine therapy, antidepressant tapering, and related topics.

I volunteer with:
Arizona Psychedelic Society – facilitating the Recovery Alliance group

Billy’s Place – member at large Board of Directors

Decriminalize Nature Arizona – supporting community education and reform

Scottsdale Research Institute – assisting with psychedelic clinical trials and advocating for Right to Try legislation

My career is devoted to helping build bridges between research, accessibility, and lived human experience.

My Mission

My mission is to help others reconnect with their inner healing intelligence and capacity for transformation. I aim to bridge science, spirituality, and compassion supporting the innate healing potential that exists within every person.

Healing is possible!

I provide coaching, psychedelic guidance, education and facilitation. I cater each experience to meet your individual needs.
